While studying at Shaw University he was listed in Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges.
After completing his undergraduate studies he received his Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School. In 2007 Pastor McDaniel was invited to Harvard University to participate in a program which focused on economic development and community revitalization.
He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. In addition to his studies at United Theological seminary he is completing post graduate work with the Graduate Theological Foundation in affiliation with Oxford University (UK).
In addition to his academic work Reverend McDaniel completed Pastoral studies at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. There he served as a Chaplin in the Urban Ministries department of Pastoral Care. Much of his work focused on ministering to families in financial crisis and homeless men throughout Wake County.
In 2005, Reverend McDaniel was called to Pastor the Elon First Baptist Church in Elon, NC. Since Pastor McDaniel’s arrival at Elon First Baptist Church has grown tremendously.
Pastor McDaniel has been afforded the opportunity to preach and gives lectures at churches, colleges and universities throughout the country. He is a man who loves God and his family. He is the son of Minister Silas and Branelisa Kay Hart. He is married to the lovely Garriel McDaniel. They have two beautiful children Marceo Keith McDaniel Jr. and Madison Nicole McDaniel. His favorite scripture is Romans 8:38-39
“For I am persuaded, that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Reverend M. Keith McDaniel Sr. is the Pastor of Elon First Baptist Church located in Elon, NC.
A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Reverend McDaniel accepted the call to ministry under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Sir Walter Mack Jr. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Elon University Center for Environmental Studies.
Rev. McDaniel is an honor graduate of Shaw University where he majored in Religion and Philosophy and minored in business management.
